luella for target
ROLE: Art Director | Graphic Designer DELIVERABLES: Concepting, Photoshoot, Print Development & Production, Concept and Design
As the initial art director in charge of Target’s Go International Designer campaigns we began first with Luella for Target. I concepted and developed all print advertising, invitations, the press kit and lookbooks both for print and digital. I fashioned each piece to highlight the British designer and her girlish charm with a rock and roll cool flair.
Like Joey Ramone meets Gidget, Barley’s clothes mix vintage feel with a distictly relaxed but sexy vibe that is a favorite with London’s in-crowd. This idea was a thread to visually create the entire project’s look and feel. It was important to highlight Luella herself and her goods while drawing attention to the launch of this new designer initiative. With the assignment’s dual responsibilities the final results brought attention to the kick off, emphasized the Luella brand and created awareness of world renowned designers appearing within the Target stores and online.
