downtown butcher & mercantile

ROLE: Creative Director | Graphic Designer DELIVERABLES: Logo Design & Branding, Website Strategy, Design & Development

The Downtown Butcher and Mercantile was an endeavor that began with an empty first floor building that once housed Sears, Roebuck and Company. The client wanted a website and brand identity that displayed the many facets that the new mercantile would accommodate, while making the
establishment cohesive but with distinct individual areas within the store. It was also important to embrace the main street locale and the vintage feel to the downtown area.

At its core it is a butcher shop but also includes an ice cream bar, café, deli and grocery. The shop is complete with an early Ford produce truck square in the center. Therefore, it was clear the website needed an old-time general store look and feel.

The completed site drives traffic to collect new contacts for mailings, registration for their CSA, showcases the menus and highlights the other ventures throughout the store all while exhibiting the stores hometown atmosphere.
